# Why Am I Being Asked For An Email Code?

## We ask you to verify your email address so we know it is really you.

We have upgraded our system to bolster security across our apps. While we were able to retain your password, we could not transfer your old multi-factor authentication details across. The email code helps keep your account secure by ensuring your identity is confirmed before setting up a new multi-factor authentication method.
